Working on Saturday

Hello everybody!
This afternoon I will write about some activites that I did from plataforma.uchile.
In the first activity that we had to do, we had to find a good desk top computer with a budget of $800 in the website www.overstock.com, in my opinion the budget was a little excessive because with less money you can find a lot of good options. I chose this one, with a price of $347.268,77

It´s an Apple iMac MB417LL/A20-inch Core 2, it has 4GB of memory RAM and 320 GB of hard drive. I am not a fan of Apple in particular but I like the desing and I think that the price is reasonable.
Another thing that we had to find was a computer desk with a budget of $200. In this case I chose the Bush Aero Desk with a price of $121,968

I think that this desk is classy, pretty and functional, I don´t need nothing more.

In the second activity, we had to do a quiz about Internet in the website www.classzone.com. I replied correctly seven questions (it was ten). In general I do not know a very much about Internet but the quiz made me learn some things that I did not know before.

Also we had to do another test to assess the level of addiction that we has to Internet. I obtained 23 points that it does mean that I am not an addict to Internet.

For the third activity we had to fill with words a text about the mp3 player. My score was 77% because I confused two words :/

Finally, for the fourth activity we had to choose an article from How Stuff Works related to the area of studies that I belong and then answer some questions.

For do the activity I chose the category "culture" and then "people" and then "relationships", because the microsociology studies the interactions between the persons, ergo, the relationships. I read an article named "How effective is nonverbal communication?"

The questions and responses are this:

1. Why did you select the article?

    I chose the article because I have always been interested in the nonverbal communication, I think that is a wonderful kind of communication that the most of the time we do not realize of its impact

2. Did you find enought information in the article? Did you find the info you were lookin for?

    I think that the info in the article it was not very good or very extensive for the topic. I would have liked find more scientifics facts and information about the subject. It was not the info that I was looking for exactly, it was very general.

3. What was the most interesting thing your learnt about it?

   In general I knew the information of the article, but one thing that I had never considered it was the fact that the silent is another form of nonverbal communication, that seemed to me interesting.

4. Make a list of 15 words from the article that you found difficult to understand. Find their meaning  

  1. Skipping: Move along lightly, stepping from one foot to the other with a hope or bounce

  2. Convey: Transport or carry to a place

  3. Cue: A thing said or done that serves as a signal to an actor or other performer to enter or to begin their speech or performance

  4. Fib: A lie, tipically an unimportant one

  5. Nuances: A subtle difference in or shade of meaning, expression or sound.

Those was all the words that I found difficult to understand.
